Maps and locations

To use the GPS function with your device, you will need to use the HERE Maps application. It provides a rich set of features such as navigation, transit options, traffic conditions and views from satellite.

  1. Open the HERE Maps app by tapping on HERE Maps 25x25.

    • HERE maps will ask for permission to know your location. Tap the Allow button to let HERE Maps know your location.
    If the geolocation icon does not appear at the top of your phone, go to your home screen, tap on the Settings app and tap the button next to Geolocation to enable it.
  2. Tap the menu button on the upper-right corner of the screen to expand your options.
  3. Tap the Route button to find your current location. A Finding your current location message will appear.
  4. When GPS has the access to your location data, the message disappears and the button in the bottom left of the map turns green.
    Note:If you are using GPS for the first time, you might need to go outside to get it to locate.
  5. Type in the To box to search for any location by name or address to find where you want to go while you have access to a data connection.
  6. Tap the rounded green icon at the bottom left of the Here maps app to refresh your location at any time.
  1. Open the HERE Maps app by tapping on here app.
    • A screen will appear notifying you that HERE maps wants to know your location. Tap the Share button to allow HERE Maps to know your location.

    If the geolocation icon geolocate does not appear at the top of your phone, go to your home screen, open the Settings app Settings 1.3Settings 1.4Settings- 2.0 (small) and tap the button next to Geolocation to enable it: fos enabled. If you're using the HERE Maps app for the first time, you might need to go outside for the app to find you.
  2. Tap the menu button in the upper-right to see options for searching for places by name, getting directions, or saving the map for later use.

  3. As you travel, tap the round icon at the bottom left corner of the screen to refresh your current location information. This usually happens automatically, except when the GPS can't easily detect your location - when your phone is in your bag or pocket, for example.
