키보드 단축키는, 마우스 조작을 대신하여 빠르게 사용할 수 있는 키보드 조합입니다. 예를 들면, 메뉴에서 마우스를 사용하여 보관을 클릭하는 대신, 메시지가 선택되어 있을 때 "A" 키를 눌러서 작업할 수 있습니다.

키보드 단축키에 대하여
Thunderbird에서는 상황에 따라 키보드 단축키를 구분합니다. 즉, 그것들의 위치에 따른 다양한 Thunderbird 인터페이스는 현재 "활성화" 상태입니다. 예를 들면, 메시지 목록에서 메시지가 선택되어 있을 때, 잘라내기, 복사, 붙여넣기 키보드 단축키는 사용할 수 없습니다 (메시지 리스트에서는 텍스트를 잘라내기 하거나 붙여넣기 하는 것은 알맞지 않기 때문에). 마찬가지로, 메시지를 읽고 있는 동안 텍스트를 선택하면, 복사 단축키를 사용할 수 있지만, 잘라내기와 붙여넣기 단축키는 사용할 수 없습니다 (읽고 있는 메시지에서 복사하는 것은 알맞지만, 잘라내기나 붙여넣기 하는 것은 알맞지 않기 때문에).
키보드 단축키 조작은 Thunderbird 인터페이스가 활성화되어 있는 부분에 따라 다양합니다. 예를 들면, 메시지를 작성할 때는 Ctrl + ACommand + A 단축키가 메시지의 모든 텍스트를 선택하게 합니다. 그러나, 메시지 리스트에서 메시지가 선택되어 있을 때는, Ctrl + ACommand + A 단축키가 메시지 리스트의 모든 메시지를 선택하게 합니다.
키보드 단축키 설정
Dorando Keyconfig 부가 기능 ( "keyconfig" 부가기능의 업데이트 버전)이나, 메뉴 마법사와 같은 부가기능이 단축키를 사용자화하거나 비활성화하는 데 도움이 될 것입니다.

단축키와 운영체제
- Windows 및 Linux에서, 가속 단축키는 보통 Ctrl 키 입니다.
