Room capacity in Hubs

This article is no longer maintained, so its content might be out of date.

We recommend a maximum of 24 in-room participants. This capacity is the default because low power devices, such as mobile phones and standalone VR headsets, may begin experiencing performance issues in busier rooms.

You can change the maximum number by following these steps:

  1. Click on HubsMoreIcon in the bottom right corner, and select Room Info & Settings.
  2. Click on Edit.
  3. Under Room Size, enter your desired limit.
  4. Click the Apply button to save your changes.

What if my room is full?

Once a room is full, all additional users can still participate by watching from the lobby. They will be able to hear and see what's happening and interact via text chat. However, their avatars will not be represented in the room and their mics will not be active. There is no hard limit on lobby capacity, however, performance may decrease once there are over one hundred people in the lobby.

What if I want to host larger events?

If you want to use Hubs for a larger event we recommend splitting crowds into multiple rooms with smaller groups, or live streaming the event.

Hubs Cloud: We recommend Hubs Cloud for organizations that regularly host large events. Please, see the Hubs Cloud site for more information.
