What does our future look like after Covid-19?

The world will never return to the way that it was; together, we can bring about change and invent a bright new future.

Innovators from 79 countries met at the hackathon and 12 teams are now working across colour, culture, religion, borders, age, gender to solve one common challenge - COVID-19 :) and they have never met in person before. They will be presenting their solutions on 25th June 5pm BST at the Big Global Pitch.

The Big Global Pitch

Thursday 25th June 2020

5pm - 7pm BST

Online—Global
100% Virtual

WHY?

The world is undergoing drastic change. We along with our governments, industries and scientists are already dealing with the immediate challenges. The question is, what happens after Coronavirus?

The impact on jobs, finances, education, travel, food, environment, startups ... It gives us jitters thinking about these.

How do we invent a bright new future after COVID-19?

WHAT?

A two day exclusive online ‘Open Innovation’ event to inspire every citizen to think of real solutions to the aftermath of the Coronavirus crisis.

The winning teams will pitch their ideas to an expert panel of entrepreneurs, impact investors and policymakers. The most promising concepts devised during the Coronavirus Hackathon will be developed further, be brought to life and will change the future.

WHO?

Everyone! Young students, graduates, behavioural scientists, musicians, mums, teachers, investors, developers, anyone with a passion for change!

Idea - You do not need to have a fully formed idea yet (although you might!)- just bring your open mind.

Teams: You can join on your own. We will be curating the teams based on your skill set and timezones.

What is a hackathon?

A hackathon is an event designed for people to solve problems. Teams collaborate, quickly innovate new ideas and build proof of concepts.

We are not a traditional tech hackathon.

The Common VC Future Hackathon is hosting conversations across various virtual platforms such as Zoom, Skype, Slack, YouTube, Facebook and GoogleDocs. Varying perspectives from differing people from around the world will allow for the cross-pollination of ideas and ultimately new products, business models, policies and campaigns. The two-day ‘Open Innovation’ event inspires citizens of the world to contemplate real solutions post-Covid-19. The winning teams present their solutions to investors, philanthropic fund executives and policymakers.

What Next?

The Coronavirus hackathon has launched a community of change makers and innovators.

Our goal is to turn the ideas into solutions for the future. We are working to build a roster of partners and investors to fund the best ideas and bring solutions to life.
