Forget button - quickly delete your browsing history on Firefox

Due to a bug in Firefox version 110, using this feature deleted all cookies, not just those from the selected time frame. This was fixed in Firefox version 110.0.1, released February 28, 2023.

Firefox comes with an optional Forget toolbar button that lets you clear cookies and browsing history from a selected time frame, without affecting the rest of your information. Here's how to do it in just a few clicks:

  1. First, add the Forget button to your toolbar. You'll only need to do this step once!
    • Click the menu button Fx89menuButton, then click More tools and select Customize Toolbar…
    • Drag the Forget button forget button 57 from the Customize Firefox panel to your toolbar, then click Done.
  2. When you're ready to clear your recent history, click the Forget button forget button 57 on your toolbar.
  3. Choose the time frame that you'd like to forget (five minutes, two hours or 24 hours) and click the red Forget! button.

Important: When you click this button, the information is permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

Firefox will then clear the history and cookies from the specified time frame, close your open tabs and relaunch a new, clean window.
