This page describes Thunderbird's configuration options for your system.


Specify the location on the hard drive where messages and configuration information is stored (per account)

Menu location: ToolsEdit > Account Settings > account name > Server Settings

Specify the location on the hard drive where messages and configuration information is stored (local folders)

Menu location: ToolsEdit > Account Settings > Local Folders

Specify whether messages for an account should be stored on the current computer (IMAP)

Menu location: ToolsEdit > Account Settings > account name > Synchronization & Storage

Configure when folders should be automatically compacted

Menu location: Thunderbird > PreferencesTools > OptionsEdit > Preferences > Advanced > Network & Disk Space

Specify how much disk space can be used by Thunderbird's cache

Configure how Thunderbird behaves when there is no internet connection (offline)
